I hope you're following the adventures I've been having of late with my dear old pal, Clyde McDunk, the Carpenter, in the pages of Snarked! - and those little rapscallions Scarlett and Rusty, whoever they may be. The preview issue in stores now is merely the beginning - there's many, many months of adventures ahead!
But for now, let us know what you think of the show so far. Better yet, draw us a picture of what you think a Snark might look like, the better to prepare us for the ordeals ahead! Your letters and drawings may even be published - and who knows? The best of them may merit a big sloppy kiss. (From McDunk.) Be sure to check here regularly for more news... and beware of Snarks! For they may turn out to be Boojums, and you know how bad that can be.
In closing, I would just like to remind you - the correct term for my particular condition is not "cowardice"; these days, it's termed "creatively-managed risk avoidance" by forward-thinking people. I regard it not as a curse, but as a blessing, and can't recommend it highly enough.
Your friend in utter, abject, gibbering creatively-managed risk avoidance,

Picked up issue #0 and just finished reading it to my daughter. Wanted to say when I first saw inklings of this comic the style connected with me in such a way that I was suddenly inspired to create a comic series just for her. It would be hand drawn in a nice sketchbook that hopefully one day I will be able to give her. Maybe she will pass it down to her children. So all that to say that this is already added to my pull list for us to share and for inspiration. Love your work Roger!!
ReplyDeleteI shall pass on your kind words to Mister Langscritch at the earliest convenience. I am given to understand that his chronicles of our adventures stem from a similar impulse regarding his own grubby offspring - something to read to them to beguile the bedtime hours. I'm sure he will be gratified to learn the condition is contagious. - WJW
